{"id":801,"date":"2025-02-28T03:09:13","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T03:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/?p=801"},"modified":"2025-05-23T03:14:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T03:14:11","slug":"banana-pudding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/banana-pudding\/","title":{"rendered":"Banana Pudding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Makes 4 servings<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/2 box nilla wafers<br>2 graham crackers<br>3 bananas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banana Pudding<\/strong><br>1 cup milk<br>3 pureed bananas<br>1\/4 cup sugar<br>2 egg yolks<br>2 tbsp corn starch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whipped Cream<\/strong><br>2 cups heavy\/whipping cream<br>4 tbsp sugar<br>2 tbsp vanilla pudding mix<br>1 tsp vanilla<br>1\/2 tsp kosher salt<br>1 tsp bourbon whiskey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Add all Banana Pudding ingredients to a pot and heat on medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constantly whisk until pudding becomes thicker then finish on medium-high heat. Whisk entire time until pudding becomes thick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour in a bag and place in the freezer for 30 min.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile dice the remaining 3 bananas and leave 4 slices for garnish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crush the nilla wafers into bite sized chunks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the whipped cream, add all ingredients to a bowl and mix with a stand mixer until thick and creamy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To not over-whip, finish off with a whisk until stiff peaks form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Layer each cup in this order: small amount of whipped cream, nilla wafers, banana pudding, diced bananas, remaining whipped cream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garnish with graham cracker crumbles and a graham cracker slice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a heat safe plate, sprinkle granulated sugar onto 4 banana slices.
