{"id":630,"date":"2024-07-05T14:33:16","date_gmt":"2024-07-05T14:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/?p=630"},"modified":"2025-10-11T04:13:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T04:13:18","slug":"chipotle-steak-bowl-copycat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/chipotle-steak-bowl-copycat\/","title":{"rendered":"Chipotle Steak Bowl Copycat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Makes 1 serving<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1 angus steak<br>4oz monterey jack cheese (~1\/2 small block)<br>4oz black beans (~1\/2 normal can)<br>2 cups white rice<br>1 lime<br>1 tsp adobo seasoning<br>cilantro to taste<br>sour cream to taste<br>kosher salt and cracked pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pico de Gallo<\/strong><br>7 roma tomatoes<br>1 serrano pepper<br>1 white onion<br>cilantro to taste<br>kosher salt to taste<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pico<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Dice tomatoes, serrano pepper, and onions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut off the cilantro stems and chop the cilantro finely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combine all into a large bowl and salt to taste, adding a bit at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place in the fridge until ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steak Bowl<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook rice in a rice cooker or a pot with 1 part rice to 2 parts water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Season steak with adobo seasoning as well as generous salt and pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook steak in cast iron, making sure to only flip once. Cook to 155F and let rest to reach 160F (medium well).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While steak is cooking, grate cheese and microwave black beans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once steak is finished, chop into strips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once rice is finished, garnish with generous cilantro and moderate lime and mix together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assemble your bowl with rice and beans at the bottom, steak and pico, and then sour cream and cheese.
