{"id":1156,"date":"2025-07-30T01:48:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T01:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/?p=1156"},"modified":"2025-10-21T05:21:43","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T05:21:43","slug":"belgian-delight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/belgian-delight\/","title":{"rendered":"Belgian Delight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Makes 6 waffles<\/em><br>*waffle iron needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingedients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Waffles<\/strong><br>270g all-purpose flour<br>12g granulated sugar<br>12g baking powder<br>2 eggs<br>1\/2 cup vegetable oil<br>2 cups milk<br>1 tsp vanilla extract<br>1\/2 tsp cinnamon<br>1\/2 tsp table salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Garnish<\/strong><br>6 scoops french vanilla ice cream<br>2 cups dark chocolate syrup or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/iced-mocha\/\">butter ganache<\/a><br>baking oil spray as needed<br>t.t. powdered sugar<br>1L frying oil (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat and lubricate your waffle iron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix your dry ingredients in a bowl (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cinnemon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separate your egg whites from your yolks and beat the egg whites until they get some volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add egg yolk, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla to your dry ingredients and mix well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fold in the egg whites until a thick liquid is formed; not too fluffy but also not too viscous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour batter into your waffle iron and cook (time and technique will vary per waffle iron).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want liege style waffles, pour less batter into the iron and deep fry after for about 30 seconds in neutral oil at 350F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garnish with powdered sugar, dark chocolate ganache, and ice cream.
