{"id":1018,"date":"2025-06-27T19:25:39","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T19:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/?p=1018"},"modified":"2025-10-21T05:11:03","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T05:11:03","slug":"fathers-day-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fmidnight.com\/gourmet\/fathers-day-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Father&#8217;s Day Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Makes 1 pie<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crust<\/strong><br>16 graham crackers<br>5 tbsp butter<br>1 tbsp granulated sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chocolate Pudding<\/strong><br>2 cups milk<br>3 tbsp 100% cocoa powder<br>3 tbsp 70% cocoa powder<br>1\/2 cup powdered sugar<br>2 egg yolks<br>2 tbsp corn starch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whipped Cream<\/strong><br>2 cups heavy\/whipping cream<br>4 tbsp powdered sugar<br>2 tbsp vanilla pudding mix<br>1 tsp vanilla<br>1\/2 tsp kosher salt<br>1 tsp bourbon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Garnish<\/strong><br>2 squares 70% dark chocolate<br>dehydrated marshmallows to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crust<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crush graham crackers, melt butter, and mix together with sugar. Add to a pie pan and distribute evenly to make the crust. Place in the freezer for 30 min.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pudding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add all chocolate pudding ingredients except corn starch to a pot and heat on medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constantly whisk while gradually adding corn starch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep whisking non-stop. Once pudding begins to thicken, turn to high heat and finish. Remove and set aside to cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whipped Cream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the whipped cream, add all whipped cream ingredients to a bowl and mix with a stand mixer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once stiff peaks form, use a whisk to beat to desired consistency. Be careful not to over-whip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assemble the pie by placing the pudding in first, and garnishing with whipped cream. Use a piping bag to decorate.
